HapWare Community Update

Hi everyone,

The momentum from last month has only grown. We have spent the last few weeks connecting with the community in deeper ways, returning to one of our favorite collaborations, showing up at one of the most respected DeafBlind technology events in the country, and getting ready for a big convention season ahead. Here is what we have been up to, and how our early supporters can be among the very first to experience ALEYE.

HELEN KELLER NATIONAL CENTER TECH BLITZ

We were honored to take part in the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) TechBlitz, an event bringing together the assistive technology community to explore the tools shaping the future for people who are blind, low vision, and DeafBlind. Sharing ALEYE alongside leaders and innovators at HKNC was a meaningful experience, and they pushed us with thoughtful questions and feedback.

IN-PERSON DEMOS — FORT WORTH, TX

We are hitting the road in Fort Worth this month. Come experience ALEYE in person:

  - Lighthouse of Fort Worth — Wednesday, June 11 at 3:00 PM for a live demo.

  - Foundation Fighting Blindness Conference — June 12–13.

COMING UP: NFB & ACB NATIONAL CONVENTIONS — JULY

July is going to be a big month. We will be at both the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and the American Council of the Blind (ACB) national conventions, the two largest gatherings in the blind and low vision community.

The NFB National Convention runs July 3–8 in Austin, TX, and the ACB Conference and Convention runs July 24–31 in St. Louis, MO. If you are attending either one, we would love to connect, demo ALEYE, and hear what you think. Keep an eye out for us, and reach out if you would like to set up time in person.

TECHNOLOGY UPDATES

Development is going well. Our team has been making strong progress on the integrations powering ALEYE and specifically on the wristband itself. The work connecting the wristband's haptic feedback to the rest of the ALEYE experience is advancing steadily, and we are excited about how the full system is coming together as we move toward shipping.

Here is the most important update: anyone who preorders ALEYE will receive beta access to the HapWare ALEYE mobile app.

The mobile app lets you start experiencing ALEYE through your Meta smart glasses, giving real-time insight into facial expressions, gestures, and body language long before your wristband ships. Preorder customers are first in line for access. The beta is already live, with multiple people using the app today.
