Community Engagement
Tests this month, NFB Virginia insights, and a smaller wristband on the way.
Our mission is to make nonverbal communication universally accessible. AlEye detects facial expressions, emotions, gestures, and body language in real time and translates them into precise haptic patterns so you can stay present at school, at work, and in everyday life.
Pilots are running in November. We are measuring comfort, setup time, and learning speed for patterns. If you are not in this round, the next beta begins early next year and will include the next product iteration. Sign up here.
At the National Federation of the Blind Virginia Convention, Bryan, our CTO and a respected leader in the NFB, joined a wearables panel with leaders from Aira and other technology teams. The discussion centered on reliable AI, effective use of haptics, and collaboration with the community. Bryan explained how our algorithms work, how we select and refine cues, and how your feedback determines what we build first. After the panel we hosted a hands on session where attendees tried AlEye, asked detailed questions, and shared insights about fit, controls, and daily use. We are already integrating that feedback into the upcoming beta.

Hardware and software are both moving forward. We are shrinking the wristband and shaping it to feel like a familiar watch so it looks natural and fits under sleeves. Based on what we learn in this beta, we believe we can reduce overall volume by at least sixty percent in the next build. We are also updating the mobile app to make switching between cues faster, clearer, and more customizable.
Interest in testing has been high. To include more perspectives and environments, we are expanding testing at the start of the year. Join the waitlist and tell us which cues and situations matter most to you so we can invite you as soon as new spots open.
